Our class got to use our class time to learn about our ecosystem and sustainability. A lot of the facts and ways we could improve and conserve materials were already known by most of our class but it was still fun to be reminded.
The sustainability fair was a fun way to inform faculty, staff, and students about our lives today and how we could improve them. The younger children looked like they were really having a good time. Everyone learned facts, could watch a play about sustainability, ate the delicious cold watermelon, and/or bought the organic home made soaps and lotions.
When our class went, our mission was to find a way to incorporate sustainability into our own quality projects. Each person was challenged. I could not figure out how to incorporate sustainability in a cook book. If i use organic ingredients than the recipes would not be part of my family traditions and it would not have the same story or mean a lot to me. And if i made the pages out of recycled paper then it would not look very professional. But maybe i could be sustainable by not writing or printing the ingredient list, stories, and pictures until i actually put the book to together and it is the final product. Anyone have any ideas???
